July 1, 2013

Energy management system product now available to Kansas City businesses. Lenexa, KS – January 14, 2013: Worldwide Energy is now offering Encelium Lighting Management Systems to its list of energy efficient solutions. The energy management systems allow light monitoring and controlling in a central location, and are designed to reduce energy usage.

“Lighting controls are the latest technology when it comes to energy management and usage, and the future of lighting for commercial applications,” said Hunter Kasten, Director of Business Development at Worldwide Energy. (http://animated-cover.flywheelsites.com) “The systems provide business owners and building managers with improved lighting quality, flexibility, and convenience because it allows them the ability to set schedules and optimize lighting levels remotely,” added Kasten.

Based in New Jersey, Encelium Energy Management System is a computer network-based program that interconnects electronic dimming ballasts, photo and occupancy sensors, and lighting fixtures to one central system. Each device has a module installed, and communicates through low-voltage wiring to allow for individual control and monitoring. The system includes energy management software that is used to commission, configure, and manage the Encelium technology.

Lighting control systems are quickly gaining traction, and according to a recent Pike Research study (http://www.pikeresearch.com/research/intelligent-lighting-controls-for-commercialbuildings), “has entered a dynamic period of growth and potential.” The study projected that the global market for intelligent lighting controls will expand from $1.5 billion in 2012 to more than $4.3 billion in 2020. “Building-wide lighting management systems have developed rapidly over the past few years, giving building managers better tools with more information and more control,” said Eric Bloom, senior research analyst at Pike Research.

“We’re excited to be able to provide this service to business owners in Kansas City,” added Kasten. “Lighting control systems are an efficient, booming technology, and are certainly beneficial to our city today.” Worldwide Energy recently installed the first Encelium Management Control System (http://encelium.com) in the Kansas City area at Centrinex, which is estimated to save the company more than $20,000 a year in utility savings.
